Mealy Bugs are Harmful To Plants
Scientific Name: Phylum: Arthropoda, C’ass: Insecta, Order: Homoptera, Family: Pseudococcidae
Nickname: Mealybugs 
Appearance/Size: Adult females are wingless, with oval, seg-mented bodies and legs. Covered by a white sticky powder resembling corn-meal. The females are about 0.4 in. (1 cm) long, and the males are active two-winged fliers. 
Plant symptoms: White, cotton-like clumps on crevices and stems, Yellowing of leaves, Dropping of leaves, Death of leaves and Ants present. 
Reproduction:Some species of mealybug lay their eggs in the same waxy layer used for protection in quantities of 50–100; other species are born directly from the female. 
Eat: The females and young feed on various parts of plants with their sucking mouthparts. Mealybug females feed on plant sap, normally in roots or other crevices.
