Alpha-phellendrene is a minor terpenoid

Occurring in small percentages in certain cannabis cultivars. It falls under the monoterpene classification, with a characteristic 10-carbon structure.

This terpene has a distinctive spicy, herbal scent with traces of black pepper detectable. Some also perceive faint citrus and mint tones in its aroma profile. The smell is quite strong and pronounced.

Alpha-phellendrene appears prevalently across various unrelated plant species. Significant natural sources include dill, fennel and cumin seeds, several pine species, and a diversity of herbs and spices.

Preliminary research indicates alpha-phellendrene may offer these potential therapeutic attributes:
