Alpha-bisabolol

Alpha-bisabolol is a lesser known terpene

Found in smaller concentrations in certain cannabis varieties.Like other terpenoids, it contributes to the unique aromatic signature of different strains.

This compound has a mildly sweet, floral aroma reminiscent of tropical fruit and tea tree oil. Some describe subtle honey and vanilla undertones as well when inhaling this terpene.

Alpha-bisabolol appears in various plants aside from cannabis, including Candeia trees, German chamomile flowers, and Origanum majorana herbs. It is a primary constituent of the essential oils derived from these species.

Research indicates alpha-bisabolol has a number of beneficial bioactive properties when isolated:
